Week of March 25 Recap: Building Integrity & Self-awareness

Brief Overview of the Week

It’s a bit hard to see on paper how poorly I did. I’m feeling overwhelmed with work and focused on that, but I didn’t even hit my work target (even though it was the first week with the increased goal from 5 to 6 hours per day).

I think I might be working out too much, and it’s taking a physical toll. It could also be the stress; there were definitely days where I needed extra rest in the afternoon.

I’m going to reassess my goals and make sure they’re realistic.

Think the two big lessons for me so far on this coaching journey are:

  • Integrity: We’ve spoken about this, and I absolutely need to live up to my word. I plan on having a notepad next to me to track every commitment, ensuring I follow through. I need to improve with clients in particular – I’m not proud of my performance there.
  • Realistic commitments: I think my struggles with integrity stem from good intentions but unrealistic goals. Instead of taking the time to plan for success (especially with clients), I commit and think “I’ll make it happen”. I need to be much more mindful.

“The first and most important of The Four Agreements is be impeccable with your word.”

Miguel Ruiz

“And why do we fall, Bruce? So we can learn to pick ourselves up.”

The Dark Knight, Christopher Nolan

For context: I’ve started working with a personal coach again and we’re doing weekly sprints together.
